About Cheeky Cheeks Face Painting
I take great pleasure in showcasing my style and philosophy on professional face and body art. I understand that everyone has an independent expression of who they are and my goal is to capture the unique quality and personality of every individual by using paint or henna.
Hello my name is Kelly Hilger,
I am married (15 years) with two children. I have been an artist my whole life, creating with a ton of different mediums including; oil paintings and watercolors and spray paint and airbrush on canvas, murals, stained glass, crochet, cake decorating, jewelry making, scrap booking and photography. I began face painting about 8 years ago to keep from having to stand in line at festivals with my girls. Pretty soon all of their friends were stopping by my house to get their faces painted before the fair, parade or birthday party or whatever special event they were attending. I began to consider it as a career in 2009.
The stacks and stacks of art supplies have dwindled or accumulated dust since then because I am finding so much satisfaction in face and body art that I forget sometimes that I can do other things. I am grateful every day that I have found a fulfilling career doing something I love. I could paint people all day long every day and never grow tired of it. It would be like my dad getting paid to fish!
Nothing makes me happier than showing someone the mirror when I am finished. I love the smiles; I love the shy kids that find their bravery to get painted. I love the tricky requests that make me think out of the box and I love the happy events usually taking place while I am working. Whether it is a baby blessing or a birthday party, a wedding or a backyard BBQ I have met the most amazing people.
I attend Face and body painting conventions along with the annual HennaCon in CA. I watch online classes and tutorials and I practice, practice, practice. I have been inspired by the masters in this field, my fellow artist and my clients.
And As an Added Bonus & I Get To Walk Around Randomly With My Own Face Painted
