The Steel Magnolia

The Steel Magnolia opened it's doors in November 2015. Located in the heart of historic downtown Somerset, The Steel Magnolia is Main Street's newest boutique , offering private appointments to customers. The historic building at 114 N Main St was built in 1886, and still boasts it's original pressed tin ceilings and hardwood floors. Newly updated with timeless sophistication, from the ornate ceilings to the soft lighting chandeliers... the atmosphere offered makes for an unforgettable bridal experience. Owner, Lacy Dixon, opened The Steel Magnolia with hopes of catering to each customer on a personal level. She states, "When I opened the doors, people were confused as to why I only have one dressing room. That's all I need. We handle our brides one at a time here. Each woman is given her time, with her family, in a private and comfortable setting. This makes the experience more memorable for the bride. There is no awkward sitting with strangers... just you and your loved ones. Each customer gets undivided attention and we can listen to her and her concerns. This is why we do private appointments. We do take walk-ins if we have an open slot, of course. But with the growing popularity of our shopping experience, availability is sometimes limited".
