The Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, founded in 1919, serves orphans, homeless, abandoned, neglected and dependent children. Located in Fargo, N.D., it offers infant, identified, interstate, relative and international adoption services. The organization s attendant care program serves youth who need supervision after being picked up and charged with an offense by local law enforcement. The Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota also provides training and support to early care givers and educational professionals on the local, state and national level. It offers assistance before and after a disaster through preparedness training and recovery response. The organization provides intensive in-home counseling to families in which one or more children are at risk of being placed outside the home.
