Evans Barbecue Co
Evan's Barbeque Company is family-owned, and named after Michael & Alicia White's six-year-old son Evan. Stumbling upon the Bankhead spot that had served Villa Rica for over 30 years, they both agreed it just, "felt right."
Michael holds a degree from The Culinary Institute of America and worked for nine years at the prestigious 21 Club in New York City, followed by four years at The Capital City Club in Atlanta. Alicia worked under several celebrity Chefs in New York while attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Their 13 years spent in New York City provided them with immeasurable experience within the culinary field.
Remaining in NYC for a year and a half following the birth of their son, the duo eventually decided to return to their Southern roots, seeking more spacious surroundings and closer proximity to family members.
Michael uses as many local purveyors and fresh ingredients as possible in his menu items and the smoker is always rolling. Michael's method is simple, "low and slow."
Michael, Alicia, Evan and their two-year-old daughter Sage Wren are proud to have called Villa Rica home for the past five years.
