- Portland Pie CoIn 1997 we opened Portland Pie Company, a take-out and delivery business specializing in premium gourmet pizza with flavored pizza dough. The concept quickly caught on as did the demand for more diverse menu offerings. Shortly after opening our doors, we added appetizers, salads and sandwiches to our menu. We pride ourselves on the heritage of the geographic area in which we grew up. We use local purveyors and name our menu items after areas or points of interest unique to the state of Maine.After five successful years as a take-out and delivery based business, the concept was changed to meet the needs of the Greater Portland area, and our flagship Portland location was relocated to accommodate a sit down/dine in experience. This evolution was also accompanied with a bar area offering beer and wine. Since its inception eleven years ago, our company has expanded to three locations ( Portland, Westbrook and Scarborough ). We also developed a wholesale manufacturing company that produces Portland Pie Company's signature gourmet flavored pizza dough balls for distribution throughout New England.
